There are three ways you can reserve a storage unit with Northern Montana Storage; online ( https://selfstoragemontana.com ), in person by visiting our office, or by calling (406) 434-8136.

Yes, our security deposit fee is an additional month’s rent.

We do not require customers to sign long-term contracts to rent storage from Northern Montana Storage. Your rental agreement with us is a month-by-month agreement.
If your storage space size needs change, you can request a transfer to a larger or smaller unit at any time and depending on availability we would accommodate your request. With no long-term contracts and monthly billing, you are not locked into a unit. To request a transfer, please call our office and a member of our team will be happy to assist you.
Northern Montana Storage does not allow you to sign a rental agreement for a friend or relative. When you sign your rental agreement, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions. For that reason, we cannot legally allow you to sign a contract for someone else.
Customers have several options to pay for their storage space. Pay online, in person or over the phone. All major credit cards are accepted (VISA, Mastercard, Discover) along with cash, and check. You can also setup auto pay through our customer portal. If you required assistance with login credentials or if you would like us to setup auto pay for you, do not hesitate to contact us.

We offer multi-unit discounts, as well as a month free discount when you pay for a full year.

Your monthly rent is due on the first of each month.

If you miss a payment or are late, you will be charged a late payment fee of $20 for the month. To avoid late payments, sign up for auto pay through our customer portal ( https://selfstoragemontana.com )

Yes, we pro-rate your initial rent fee. This is determined by your move-in date.

No proof of insurance is required to rent storage at Northern Montana Storage. However, for your peace of mind, we recommend that you contact your insurance agent. Most home renters’ insurance would cover your property in storage as well.
When you are ready to move-out, ensure that your unit is in broom cleaned condition and all belongings have been cleared out to avoid any cleaning fees. You must remove the lock from your unit as well. In order to avoid getting billed, please notify our staff that you are moving at least a week before your scheduled move-out.
